Treating Problematic Skin
While some of my clients come in for relaxing facials, most come to me in order to properly deal with a variety of skin conditions. The most common issues I see are aging skin, acne, pigmentation, and reactive skin. At the beginning of every appointment, I conduct a thorough skin consultation to address the texture, pore size, and hydration level. This also includes examining moles and skin tags, sun damage, fine lines and wrinkles, acne, and overall oil production. With the use of pharmaceutical grade DMK products, I get to work and create a treatment plan.
NOTE: All treatments below are generalized and not recommended for every skin type. Everyone's skin is different and I assess this thoroughly before I assign a treatment plan.

Aging Skin
Premature aging such as fine lines and wrinkles can be caused by both internal factors such as genetics and external factors such as sun exposure or smoking. The good news is that this concern can be revised. As we age, our collagen and elastin decrease, causing a crease to form in the skin.
TREATMENT Overview
Remove dead cuticle buildup, rebuild the integrity of the skin, protect the skin from further damage, and maintain with home products.

Acne Treatment
Acne is not easily placed in a box with a set protocol. Every client is a different case with various factors that can play a part in congested pores. This means no treatment is the same for everyone. I like to get to the root cause of the acne and treat accordingly.
TREATMENT Overview
Treatments are focused on clearing congestion by improving the functionality of the skin. Occasionally this includes a change in diet or lifestyle. Home prescriptives are a must here. If you are not using them, it's like going to the gym and maintaining a bad diet.

Pigmentation
Hyperpigmentation is an excess production of melanin and can be broken into two categories: passive and inflammatory. Passive hyperpigmentation is caused by an internal imbalance such as fluctuations within the endocrine system. Inflammatory hyperpigmentation is caused by sun damage, chemicals, or injury/trauma to the skin.
Hypopigmentation occurs when the skin lacks pigment from a decrease in melanocyte activity. Repeatedly picking at the skin and sun damage can also result in lighter skin patches.
TREATMENT Overview
Treatments will focus on attacking pigmentation and preventing further damage. Pigmentation can be difficult to treat, so it is extremely important to wear sunscreen every day to prevent more unwanted pigmentation.
Reactive Skin
Rosacea, Eczema, Psoriasis
All of these skin issues are typically caused by an imbalance or dysfunction internally. Rosacea causes blushing of the skin, visible blood vessels on the surface, and sometimes small pus-filled bumps. Eczema is an itchy inflammation of the skin. It typically presents itself as a rash. Psoriasis is a condition in which skin cells build up and form scaly, dry, itchy patches.
TREATMENT Overview
Treatments are designed to get to the root issue of reactive skin and revise the underlying issues preventing homeostasis within the skin. Starting out, treatments are gentle enough to not cause irritation but strong enough to improve the skin function.
