What is LED Light Therapy?

Updated: Apr 20, 2022

LED light therapy is a non-invasive treatment used to reverse signs of aging, acne, sun damage, blemishes, and other skin conditions. Research has shown this to be an effective therapeutic modality to promote healthy, youthful skin.

What does LED light therapy do?

· Increases circulation and formation of new capillaries

· Increases lymph activity

· Stimulates the production of collagen

· Decreases inflammation and swelling

· Kills acne-causing bacteria

How does it work?

The best example to explain how it works is photosynthesis in plants. During this process, light is absorbed by plants and transformed into chemical energy, kind of like our cells do. When our cells are presented with certain wavelengths of light, they transform their energy into ATP, or raw cellular energy. The energy allows our cells to make the most of the additional blood, oxygen, nutrients, growth, and repair.

Results vary. If you are interested in this treatment, please book a consultation with me to discuss treatment options.
